Whoever wrote these words must have known the affection of a bulldog: a mass of solid love with lots of wrinkles, sad eyes, and a disposition that is gentle and very easy going. A breed that makes an excellent family dog because they don't mind having their ears pulled or cheeks pinched by children, more times than not they will come to the child and ask to be played with. They are one of the best entertainers and child watchers one could ask for. They are protective of their family, but often are more cautious than aggressive.
